Being safe...on the road

In Social Science we are working and learning about road safety. I want to remind you these 4 vital concepts to keep in mind:

1- TRAFFIC LIGHTS

They ensure that means of transports and pedestrians move as safely as possible.

2- ZEBRA CROSSING

 It is useful to cross the roads safely. They look like the stripes of a zebra animal.

3- SEATBELT

It is a device designed to avoid pain in case of having an accident.

You should wear it always as shown in the following photo:

4- HELMET

It protects our head when riding a bike.

Are you a good citizen? Do you keep safe on the road? Do you use these 4 tools?

We will talk about it next day at Science class!

This term we are learning about counting totals using TALLY MARKS and BAR GRAPHS:

Tally Marks: are a counting quickly by groups of 5

 

Bar Graphs: is a graphical display which shows information.  

Look at the bar graph and answer:

1. How many people prefer grapes?
2. Which is the most popular fruit?
3. How many people prefer oranges and bananas altogether?
4. How many more prefere blue berry than apple?

Great words

We have learnt some nice words which are super important when we speak or write. It is good to use them in our expressions.

They are: SO, BUT, BECAUSE, WHILE, OR, AND.

Working Sectors

We all agree that all jobs are equally important: carpenters, doctors, miners, teachers, architects, bus drivers, crop farmers... Each profession helps us to have a better life.

Depending on what they do, we organise them into THREE SECTORS:

-Primary sector: here, workers obtain raw materials. For instance a fisherman.

-Secondary sector: workers transform raw materials into products. For example: industrial workers.

-Tertiary sector: provides us with a service. For instance, a shop assistant.

Could you make a list of jobs in each of the sectors? Try it and show me at class.
